Haha, I think I mostly agree with you on "boundaries," which are supposed to be about self-control. It's funny, though, the only times I can recall others bringing up that word in conversation with me, they treated it as a tool to shame and control me, instead!
I saw your comment just now! But yes, same. It's only ever been used in that way toward me, too. Whenever I've felt the need to set boundaries with someone, I've never had to use that word, and have often been able to do it through body language. It doesn't get so dramatic that way.
